Matching Configuration
There are two main approaches to configuring matching, depending on your MDM implementation style.
Instance layer configuration (consolidation and coexistence styles)
This is the standard approach used by most MDM implementations. Matching is configured at the instance layer level for each entity where matching will be used.
For detailed configuration instructions, see:
-
Configure Instance Layer Matching - Configure matching settings on the entity level.
-
Configure Matching Plan and Step - Configure the matching plan and the Matching step.
Master layer configuration (mixed style)
This approach is required when your implementation allows authoring records directly on the master layer (see Mixed Style in MDM) in addition to receiving data from source systems. In this case, configuring matching requires additional settings on the master entity level.
For detailed configuration instructions, see:
-
Configure Master Layer Matching - Configure matching settings on the entity level.
-
Configure Matching Plan and Step - Configure the matching plan and the Matching step.
