Welcome to MDM
Ataccama Master Data Management (MDM) is a standalone application consisting of a powerful MDM engine and a web interface. It is developed as a fully metadata-driven application, meaning that the underlying metadata model is used to derive key functionalities and to speed up project implementation.
Metadata model templates are domain-specific and can be customized to fit the needs of a given project. The master data is stored in a set of repositories that support incremental MDM operations and cover MDM-hosted data and matching data of master entities.
Data quality is at the core of all application processes as MDM implements consistent processes across all processing modes and source systems and detects changes in data as it enters MDM storage.
The module fulfills the following business roles:
-
The application functions as a system of reference delivering a single version of truth for all master data. Users can manually define master records as well.
-
Cleansing, standardizing, matching, and merging rules are centrally managed across the data pipeline.
-
It allows for peripheral data integration and processing, including data standardization, cleansing, and enrichment.
-
Data can be processed and provided in full or incremental modes. In both cases, processing is done on entity level.
-
The tool supports batch and online processing modes, both synchronous and asynchronous, as well as hybrid processing.
-
Providing matching record suggestions is supported by the AI Matching services and relies on machine-learning algorithms and user training and input.
-
Duplicates and low quality data are prevented from entering any of the connected source systems.
In addition, master data management tasks can be automated using workflows that are monitored through a business-based approval process.
