Shared Responsibility Model

Edge instances are deployed as Ataccama-managed software within your cloud environment (account or subscription), following a shared responsibility model.

Ataccama responsibilities

  • Provisioning, maintaining, and running the applications required to execute core use cases.

  • Providing necessary and correct information about deployment, new versions, and any other changes.

Ataccama staff have no direct access to your edge environments.

Customer responsibilities

  • Preparing the networking and IAM components based on provided documentation.

  • Establishing and maintaining the necessary connectivity between the edge and their data sources.

  • There is an option to implement additional security and observability measures (on top of those from Ataccama), as long as they do not interfere with core functionality.

  • Providing necessary assistance to investigate and correct issues in the edge compute plane and other systems.

  • Ensuring a new version of edge components is upgraded to no later than 90 days after releases in case you choose the manual upgrade policy.

Joint responsibilities

  • Both Ataccama and your organization work together to maintain a secure environment.
